Reindeer antlers reveal age, gender, and social status. Males have larger, more complex antlers used during mating season to compete and attract females. Females also have antlers, unique among deer, to defend feeding spots in winter. Both genders shed and regrow their antlers yearly, with older, dominant reindeer having the largest ones. Last night, when I went to bed, I looked up at the sky in amazement and wondered what looked so abnormal about the sunset. Turns out there were Noctilucent clouds over Münster! These rare, glowing night clouds form at high altitudes when ice crystals are illuminated by sunlight. A fascinating natural phenomenon! A few screenshots from my footage taken for a documentary about reindeer in Norway. This experience was not only unforgettable, but also extremely challenging. As reindeer are very shy flight animals, we had to literally crawl across the ground with our equipment on our backs for the last 200 to 300 meters so as not to create an unusual silhouette. Otherwise the animals would have fled immediately. All shots were made with my 24-70mm and 150-600 mm @sigma_deutschland lenses and the @sonyprofilmmaking A7siii
